AgooPay

Every Cedi Has an Address. Under Development, and Not Licensed.

AgooPay aims to carry payments for shops and bills for households, with one line from the keyhole to the bank that shows where each payment is. What exists today is a demonstration with sample data. Nobody can use it to make or receive a payment.

AgooPay is not licensed by the Bank of Ghana. It is under development, and we are working towards our licence. Nobody can use it to make or receive a payment. Anyone offering you AgooPay payments is not us.

For businesses

Their Page, Our Screen. A Merchant Won't Build a Card Box.

A shop will take payment through AgooPay's own screens: a modal over its page, a hosted page, a pay link, a code on the counter, fields on its own page, or a sheet in its own app. Card numbers won't touch its systems, and a payment will count only once a signed message reaches the shop's own server.

  • The name, the amount, the fee and the end time on one screen
  • The same steps and words on every surface
  • A small lock, with things a copied page can't do
  • A browser's word is never proof that money moved

Settlement

Where Is My Money. A Payout Will Open Into Its Payments.

A merchant's first screen will show every cedi at the station it has reached. Each payout will open into the payments it's made of, both sides will balance, and whatever isn't in the payout will say why. When nobody can say where a payment is, the line will break and name who has it and when you'll hear.

  • Any amount opens to show what balances it
  • A held amount says why and when it comes back
  • A date shown ahead of time is an estimate, and says so

For households

Paid Is Not the Same as Delivered. Two Threads for One Bill.

A household app will handle electricity, water, airtime and data, each one once access to it has been agreed with the company behind it. Your money and the thing you bought will each have a thread, so if a token doesn't come, you'll see that and whose job it is now.

  • The whole amount shown before you say yes
  • No blind Try Again that buys it twice
  • On iPhone and Android, when the time comes

What It Aims to Do. The Short Version.

The Thread

One line from the keyhole to the bank, on every receipt, statement and bill, so a payment always shows where it is.

Two-Sided Figures

Any amount will open into two columns that come to the same total, added up on the page.

The Keyhole

A small lock on every surface that touches a card or a phone number, so a customer can tell ours from a copy.

The family

AgooPay Stands Apart. It Joins Nothing Today.

The family's products keep their own payment arrangements and their own fees. Nobody needs AgooPay to use any of them, and it can't be chosen at any checkout in the family.

AgooPay Lives at agoopay.com. Its Own Home. Nothing Can Be Bought or Paid There.
