How you'll work. Mostly one day a week from home, agreed for the role. You'll take turns on a shared on-call rota for urgent incidents outside office hours.

  • You'll be employed by Nkonso Technologies Ltd.

About the role

Organisations rely on Agoo at their front doors every working day, and Amee and Atumpan will bring many more people who expect things simply to work. You'll own reliability across our products: how we watch them, how we recover them, and how we make sure they're ready before each new opening.

What you'll do

  • Own on-call, alerting and incident response, with clear runbooks
  • Build observability: metrics, logs and traces that show a problem before customers feel it
  • Run backups, and practise restores until they're routine
  • Plan capacity, and run load tests before big openings
  • Run incident and restore drills, and write up what we learn
  • Keep continuous integration quick and lean without dropping a single check
  • Manage infrastructure as code, with every change reviewed like any other code
  • Keep our public status page accurate
  • Keep an eye on what we spend, with the rest of the team

What you'll bring

  • At least five years in site reliability, platform or infrastructure work on production systems
  • Cloud infrastructure and observability, including work across more than one provider
  • Relational databases, preferably PostgreSQL: replication, backups, restores and performance
  • Infrastructure as code and continuous delivery
  • Calm, methodical incident response
  • Programming in Go or a similar language, as well as scripting
  • If you're a Ghanaian graduate: National Service completed, or exempt

Nice to have

  • Real-time messaging or media at scale
  • Edge networks and content delivery
  • Mobile app build and release pipelines
  • Cost optimisation in the cloud

How you'll work

  • Hybrid. You'll be based at our office at 10A Mega Street, Adentan, Accra, mostly with one day a week from home, agreed for the role.
  • Hours. Standard office hours. You'll also take turns on a shared on-call rota for urgent incidents outside office hours.
  • This is a permanent, full-time role.
  • Reporting. You'll report to the Head of Engineering.
