How you'll work. In the office every working day: child-safety material is handled only in the office, never at home. You'll be reachable for the most urgent escalations.
- You'll be employed by Nkonso Technologies Ltd.
- This role is safety-sensitive: an offer depends on a police clearance certificate.
About the role
Amee and Atumpan will protect under-18s by default, and that promise needs a specialist behind it. You'll design the protections for young people, handle suspected abuse material through a specialist, isolated route, and build the reporting relationships that take months to set up, well before Amee opens.
What you'll do
- Design protections for under-18s with product and engineering: safe defaults, limits on contact and careful discovery
- Own the specialist, isolated handling of suspected child sexual abuse material, which never goes to a general AI model
- Report to the proper authorities quickly and correctly
- Build relationships with Ghana's child online protection reporting channels and international child-protection organisations
- Be our named child-safety contact for authorities and partners
- Write our child safety policy, and train moderators to spot and escalate risks to children
- Advise on safeguarding wherever our products are used by schools and organisations that serve children
- Report on our child safety work in the transparency report
What you'll bring
- At least five years in child protection, safeguarding or child safety online
- Knowledge of Ghana's laws on children and on online protection
- Experience working with law enforcement or child-protection agencies
- Policy writing that people can follow under pressure
- Steadiness with distressing material, and the willingness to use the support we provide
- Discretion and sound judgement
- If you're a Ghanaian graduate: National Service completed, or exempt
Nice to have
- Experience at an online platform or a child helpline
- Knowledge of international child-protection reporting systems
- Training or teaching experience
How you'll work
- On site. You'll work from our office at 10A Mega Street, Adentan, Accra, every working day.
- Child-safety material is handled only in the office, never at home, and you'll be reachable for the most urgent escalations.
- Hours. Standard office hours.
- This is a permanent, full-time role.
- Reporting. You'll report to the Head of Trust and Safety.
- Police clearance. This role is safety-sensitive, so an offer depends on a police clearance certificate. We ask for it only at the offer stage, and only with your consent.
Looking after you. This work involves exposure to harmful material, and we take that seriously. We commit to limits on how much harmful material anyone reviews in a shift, to rotating people between harder and lighter work, and to access to confidential professional support for everyone on the team. National Service personnel and interns never see graphic or child-safety material.
