How you'll work. Mostly one day a week from home, agreed for each role.

  • You'll be employed by Nkonso Technologies Ltd.

About the role

AI already helps across our products: Agoo AI answers questions from an organisation's own visitor and attendance data, Agoo Forms helps people draft forms, and Agoo Bot acts for people with a confirm card before every change. You'll own how we build with large language models: the prompts, the tools a model may use, the limits it keeps and what it costs.

What you'll do

  • Build features with large language models, from the first prompt to production
  • Design tool use so an assistant acts only within the permissions of the person it serves, and leaves an audit trail
  • Keep costs predictable through caching, batching, model choice and budgets for each feature
  • Build retrieval over an organisation's own data that stays within that organisation
  • Build safety screening for what people post, with our Trust and safety team
  • Work with our AI Evaluation and Safety Engineer on tests and regression checks before every change
  • Watch quality, speed and cost in production, and act on what you see
  • Write clear guidance for the rest of the team on building with AI

What you'll bring

  • At least five years in software engineering, including hands-on work building with large language models in production
  • Practical skill in prompt design, tool use and structured output
  • An evaluation habit: you measure whether a change made things better
  • Production experience in a typed backend language
  • Care with personal data, including what is sent to a model and what is kept
  • A feel for the trade-offs between quality, speed and cost
  • If you're a Ghanaian graduate: National Service completed, or exempt

Nice to have

  • Language work in Ghanaian English, Pidgin or Ghanaian languages
  • Speech and voice interfaces
  • Content moderation systems
  • Retrieval and search

How you'll work

  • Hybrid. You'll be based at our office at 10A Mega Street, Adentan, Accra, mostly with one day a week from home, agreed for the role.
  • Hours. Standard office hours.
  • This is a permanent, full-time role.
  • Reporting. You'll report to the Head of Engineering.
